NARRATOR 1: Today, we have an important story for you.
NARRATOR 2: One you have probably heard before, but just the same, none of us seem to do a good job at following its lesson.
NARRATOR 3: This is a parable Jesus told in the Bible, but today, weíve taken our own twist on it.
NARRATOR 1: One day, a little while ago, a man was walking on a very dangerous road.
NARRATOR 2: An alley way of sortsÖ he was alone and another man came, robbed him, and beat him up.
NARRATOR 3: This is where our story begins, we begin as that man lay in pain and in need of help.
MAN: (groans in pain)
PASTOR: (humming along his way, looks at the man, makes a grossed out face, and crosses to the other side of the stage)
MAN: Wait. Please. I need your help.
PASTOR: I really wish I could help you, but you see, Iím a pastor and Iím super busy. Iíve got a lot to get done today. You know, important pastor stuff. I will pray for you! Hope you get the help you need!
MAN: Could I at least your cell phone to call someone?
PASTOR: My plan isnít unlimited. Iím so sorry. Everything is long distance from here.
MAN: (groans) Iím not sure Iím going to make it.
NARRATOR 1: Woah. Woah. Woah. Now, Iím worried. If the pastor didnít help, who will?
NARRATOR 2: Someone has to help him, right?
NARRATOR 3: Iím not sure, but I hope so! Letís keep watching.
MAN: (groans again)
Christian enters carrying bowl of soup; he sees the man, but quickly looks away.
MAN: Please! Help me! I was attacked and robbed!
CHRISTIAN: Oh wow. You look awful! Iím so sorry! ButÖ this soup is for our lent service at church and I need both hands to carry it.
MAN: Could I maybe have a little?
CHRISTIAN: Well, you see, I signed up to bring soup tonight and Iíve got to follow through. You should come next week though! When you are feeling better!
MAN: I wonít be alive next week if no one helps meÖ
CHRISTIAN: Youíve got this! Iíve got to hurry or I will be late for soup supper! So sorry!
NARRATOR 3: The lady seemed to care, but she did have her hands full.
NARRATOR 1: I hope someone comes along soon who can actually help this poor guy.
(enter another guy)
NEIGHBOR: Oh my goodness! Are you OK?!
MAN: Not really. I got mugged and beat up and Iím not sure Iím going to make it.
NEIGHBOR: Iíve got you! Let me call for help and we can get you to a hospital.
MAN: Thank youÖ
NEIGHBOR: Youíre going to be ok. Let me pray for you.
MAN: You have no idea how much I needed this.
NEIGHBOR: Iím just glad I can help
(bow heads to pray)
(paramedic rushes in)
PARAMEDIC: Whatís hurting sir, Iím here to help! Youíre going to be alright! (turns to Neighbor) Looks like you found him just in time!
NARRATOR 1: Iím so glad the story ended up OK.
NARRATOR 2: Itís just sad that so many people were too busy to stop and care.
NARRATOR 3: That was stressful, but let us always remember our class verse -

CLASS: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" LUKE 10:27
